Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analysis of healthcare data
- Draft clear, concise reports that translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Manage and execute projects, ensuring completion within scope and budget
- Oversee and guide actuarial students in their technical work on actuarial projects
- Develop skills to manage client relationships, with the potential to contribute to new business development
Qualifications:
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
- ASA designation
- Three to six years of experience in healthcare actuarial work. Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:
- Medicaid rate-setting
- Reserving and year-end statutory financials
- ACA pricing/rate filing
- Medicare Advantage (bid development, risk scores, star ratings)
- Value-based provider contracting
- Employer stop-loss and/or reinsurance pricing
- Strong ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Proficient understanding of the US healthcare system
- Proficiency with Excel, with knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R being a plus
