Position Overview:
As the Chief Underwriter for Tech E&O, you will oversee the underwriting department, ensuring that the organization's underwriting processes are efficient, accurate, and in line with market trends and risks. Your expertise in the technology sector and E&O coverage will be crucial in guiding the team to underwrite profitable, competitive policies, while effectively managing risk. This role requires a strategic thinker, strong leader, and expert in the Tech E&O space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the underwriting team, ensuring optimal performance, adherence to best practices, and development of team capabilities.
- Oversee the underwriting of Tech E&O policies, ensuring that risks are properly assessed and priced.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop underwriting strategies aligned with business goals.
- Provide expertise and guidance on complex Tech E&O claims, ensuring appropriate coverage solutions are provided.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and processes that align with industry best practices.
- Monitor and assess the performance of the portfolio, providing recommendations for adjustments as needed to ensure profitability.
- Establish and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to promote business growth and product understanding.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure underwriting processes are current and relevant.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing training and guidance on best underwriting practices and technical knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience, with a focus on Tech E&O insurance.
- At least 2 years of management experience, with a proven track record in leading and developing teams.
- Deep understanding of the technology and professional liability insurance markets.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines, risk management principles, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
