Private Equity Associate Position Overview:
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Private Equity Associate to join their dynamic team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity or investment banking, with a passion for sustainable energy and the drive to contribute to the growth of companies focused on clean energy, energy efficiency, and other environmentally responsible initiatives.
As an Associate, you will work closely with senior team members across all phases of the investment process, from sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities to executing transactions and supporting portfolio companies. This role offers exposure to a wide range of activities in the sustainable energy space and provides the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-impact investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Sourcing & Analysis: Conduct in-depth industry research, financial analysis, and due diligence to identify investment opportunities within the sustainable energy sector.
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build and maintain financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) and leveraged buyout (LBO) models, and perform valuation analyses.
- Transaction Execution: Assist in structuring and negotiating investment transactions, including equity investments, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
- Portfolio Management: Work closely with portfolio companies to monitor performance, provide strategic support, and drive value creation initiatives.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the sustainable energy industry.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with senior investment professionals, legal, and operations teams to execute transactions and drive portfolio success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with the sustainable energy sector, including renewable energy (solar, wind, etc.), energy storage, energy efficiency, and clean technologies, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on complex tasks.
- Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
