Position Overview:
Selby Jennings has recently partnered with a leading Bank that is seeking a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to join the Investment Management team. This role is responsible for managing fixed income portfolios on behalf of clients, focusing on capital preservation, income generation, and risk-adjusted returns. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fixed income markets, strong analytical skills, and experience with active portfolio management to drive performance across various market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Develop and manage fixed income portfolios, including bonds, treasuries, and other debt instruments, to meet clients' investment goals and risk tolerance.
- Investment Strategy: Formulate and execute fixed income investment strategies based on market trends, economic data, and the bank's investment outlook.
- Credit Analysis: Conduct credit analysis on various fixed income securities to assess risk levels, duration, and yield potential, ensuring optimal portfolio construction.
- Market Research & Analysis: Stay informed on fixed income markets, monetary policies, and economic indicators to guide investment decisions and identify opportunities for alpha generation.
- Risk Management: Monitor portfolio risks and implement risk-adjusted investment strategies, utilizing derivatives and other tools to hedge against interest rate and credit risks.
- Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients regarding portfolio performance, strategy updates, and economic insights.
- Compliance: Ensure all investment activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the investment team to share insights, research, and investment ideas across asset classes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in fixed income portfolio management/trading, preferably within a bank or asset management environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in fixed income securities, credit analysis, and bond pricing models.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience using financial software and portfolio management tools.
- Exceptional communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
- Ability to make quick, strategic investment decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Certifications: CFA or equivalent designation is highly preferred.
