Job Opportunity: Real Estate Investment - Originations Associate
A dynamic real estate investment firm is looking for a driven Originations Associate to join its team. This role involves sourcing, structuring, evaluating, and executing real estate debt investments. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
This position plays a key role in assessing investment opportunities and executing deals for the firm's funds. Candidates should have a background in structuring real estate transactions, with a solid understanding of both financial and legal aspects. A deep knowledge of real estate markets and lending strategies, along with the ability to leverage industry connections, is highly valued.
The role requires hands-on involvement throughout the investment lifecycle, from deal origination and underwriting to due diligence and closing. Prior experience in risk assessment, financial modeling, and valuation is essential.
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, structure, and execute high-yield real estate loans, including bridge loans, construction financing, and pre-development land loans across various asset classes.
- Engage with borrowers and industry partners to assess, negotiate, and structure new lending opportunities.
- Gather, analyze, and organize due diligence materials for multiple deals, including financial reports, legal documents, third-party assessments, title reports, and construction evaluations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key players in the real estate sector, including borrowers and intermediaries.
- Oversee the due diligence process, ensuring proper credit underwriting, review of third-party reports, and optimal deal structuring.
- Collaborate with legal teams to negotiate term sheets, loan agreements, and related transaction documentation.
- Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Credit Committee.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in real estate investment, preferably in structured debt or equity deals.
- Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and think creatively.
- Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills.
- Confident, professional demeanor with leadership potential.
- Well-connected within the real estate industry.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
