Overview:
My client, a leading Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced Senior Actuary to join their team. This role will focus on personal and commercial lines pricing and will involve significant leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of actuarial principles, strong technical expertise in pricing, and proven management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the pricing strategies for both personal and commercial lines of business, ensuring profitability, competitiveness, and alignment with company goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of actuarial professionals, fostering a collaborative environment while driving the development of actuarial talent.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and validation of pricing models, using advanced statistical and actuarial techniques.
- Utilize extensive industry knowledge and experience to recommend improvements to existing pricing methodologies and processes.
- Provide actuarial support for product development, underwriting, and business strategy decisions.
- Communicate complex actuarial concepts and pricing strategies clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all actuarial practices.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., underwriting, claims, and finance) to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications:
- FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) designation required.
- Minimum of 10 years of actuarial experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, with a strong focus on personal and commercial lines pricing.
- At least 3 years of management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial pricing techniques, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Experience with software tools such as R, Python, SAS, or similar actuarial modeling platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to a diverse audience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
