Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Microsoft Platform Engineer to join our team in Boston. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and Microsoft platforms that support the organization's IT operations and business functions. This role is crucial for driving efficient cloud solutions, enhancing security protocols, and ensuring seamless integration across various Microsoft services.
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Cloud Management:
- Design, configure, and manage Azure cloud environments.
- Implement and maintain virtual networks, storage solutions, compute resources, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Ensure scalability, security, and high availability of cloud services.
- Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform).
Active Directory (AD) Administration:
- Maintain and manage on-premises and cloud-based Active Directory (Azure AD) environments.
- Implement and manage Group Policies, user accounts, permissions, and security groups.
- Integrate AD services with other Microsoft cloud and on-premises solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot directory replication, authentication issues, and AD-related services.
Microsoft 365 Management:
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Implement security and compliance policies within the 365 environment.
- Support migrations, updates, and integrations with third-party tools.
- Provide end-user support and training on Microsoft 365 services as needed.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions using Azure AD and Microsoft security tools.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing across platforms.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration of Microsoft services.
- Provide third-level support for incidents and troubleshooting across the Microsoft platform.
- Document technical designs, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft platform engineering, including hands-on experience with Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud architecture and infrastructure services.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory and Azure AD management and integration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
- Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with networking, firewalls, DNS, and other infrastructure technologies.
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified, or Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
