Title: Senior Excess Casualty Underwriter
Location: New York City
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Underwrite technical risks across a variety of products including Primary, Umbrella and Excess
- Manage a book of business ensuring you hit organizational goals and targets
- Create and maintain solid relationships with assigned wholesale brokers and industry groups in order to successfully manage business
- Some travel to producer locations primarily in the Northeast region
- Participate in marketplace initiatives to expand the overall brand and the specific Business Unit reputation
- Interact with regional customers, brokers and other industry professionals
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Work independently as a member of a team while building a profitable book of business
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS undergraduate degree in relevant field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of P&C production underwriting experience
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task with autonomy
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Prioritizing work, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
